Yet another proposition

I have found it increasingly impossible to comment only on the first book...so...I propose that we call the entire series up for discussion. I will be sure to post a spoiler warning for anyone who may not have read through the entire series yet. What do ya say?

New book?

Okay...so I am already finished with the next two books...so much for discussion starting in three weeks. I won't discuss them here right now in case there are any who haven't read them yet...but I will be pretty bored until December 14 unless we come up with a new plan!

Twilight

I think the whole concept of a vampire falling in love with a human to be really cool. I love vampire stories to begin with (that is if a vampire is a good guy, aka Blade, Moonlight etc...), so it wasn't too hard to convince me to read the book. I think this is an well written book that is an excellent balance of action and romance and will keep a wide range of people interested in it. Enough action to keep male readers interested and not too much romance that would turn them off to the book.
Down to the details. I really like Edward and Bella's relationship. But I do believe that if she becomes a vampire the relationship will change enough to no longer be interesting (to the reader). It's like her humanity brings out the deep buried human instincts in him. I also think that her "changing" is not a good idea, at lest until she is in her 20's. I know she worries about appearing the same age as Edward, but I believe that he could easily pass for a early 20's college student, and they would still appear about the same age. But I don't think that she will be changed, mainly because the chemistry/tension would no longer be there and not many people would want to read the books anymore. I also think they are not at a stage in their relationship that she should make such a permanent decision. You know teenagers these days, always rushing into things!!
What I can't believe is that she when she was in Arizona (when James is chasing her) she deliberately ditched her protectors to go "save her mom" from the James. How stupid! Did she honestly think she could take out a vampire by herself. But I'm glad that all the Cullens came to her rescue instead of just Edward. It just seems more realistic, to me at least.
In summary, I enjoyed the book immensely. I couldn't put it down. I would recommend this book to everyone I know. It's also a book that I would read over and over again.

Proposition...

So, Dawnyel...since you and I are the only ones really participating in this site I have a proposition for you. I really want this book club idea to take off a little more. I think that we should invite others to participate. So, lets see if there is any other interest out there among our circle of friends. We have a lot of Internet friends out there that I think could be interested in this. I think we should invite others to join.
I also think that once we get a few more people and we can start having real conversations about books we should create an organized time line for things to happen here. So, December first we should start a new book. Since it is my opinion that it is IMPOSSIBLE not to read the next two books in the series by Stephanie Meyer they should definitely be on the list next!

on December 14 we will begin discussion about the next books. That should give everyone a chance to get and read the book. (I read book two in two days, and Craig stayed up reading all night last night and read it! YOU READ THAT RIGHT ALL night and read the book...START TO FINISH! I thought I was obsessed)! Book three is a little harder to come by...but I can't wait to find out what happens next!
